The Hidatsa Red bean is an heirloom which was originally obtained from the Hidatsa tribe of the Missouri River Valley in North Dakota. The Hidatsa beans are dark red seeds that taste similar to a kidney bean.
They can be used in a bean dip, chili, soups and salads.
Basic red bean

I like this bean to make a basic red bean soup with a few spices. It is also good in a spicy chili or as a protein base in a vegetable soup. I also often add black turtle beans. Love the service and reliability of Elegant Beans.

Tasty, creamy and they cook up like a charm. As always, you get a wonderful bean broth to add to your bean dish. Totally love Elegant Beans--great bean and wonderful service. I feel like a real bean maven now.
